The last time it happened was in 2017 with the 2014 vintage, and now it has happened again with the 2022 vintage, that the wine got 5,0 NJP of 5,0 NJP (100 points of 100 points). Wonderful interplay between tartaric acid, tannins and fruitiness. The wonderful interplay between the tartaric acidity, the tannins and the fruitiness gives Tamaral Vendimia Seleccionada 2022 good development and aging potential, up to 5 years i.e. up to and including the year 2030. What a wonderful, nuanced, fruity and sweet aroma of sweet dark cherries, prunes, mint, vanilla, cardamom, cocoa, cedar, black currants and milk chocolate. What a wonderful, nuanced and fruity flavour of sweet dark cherries, prunes, black currants, cardamom, milk chocolate, vanilla, cedar and mint. The aftertaste is long, dry and sweet spicy.

The wine will go perfectly with creamy pasta (fresh) with bacon, basil, sun-dried tomatoes and small pieces of chicken thigh fillets, Pizza á la Jelisic (Pizza Vesuvio with beef fillet, black olives, red onion and Parmesan cheese), lamb patties with potato gratin and red wine sauce, Beef Wellington with Hasselback Potatoes and funnel chanterelle sauce, Boeuf Bourguignon with mashed potatoes, really good and tasty burgers with cheese and bacon and elk patties with roasted root vegetables and red wine sauce. It should be drunk at 16°C to 18°C from real Bordeaux glasses, if possible, from Orrefors, Kosta Boda, Spiegelau or Riedel. Another alternative is to serve it, without decanting, at 16°C (when room temperature is above 20°C or outside temperature is above 23°C) and then enjoy it as it starts to open/grow in the glass.

Tamaral Vendimia Seleccionada 2022 consists of 95% Tempranillo and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. The grapes for Tamaral come from the vineyards planted on sand and small stones that are underlain by layers consisting of limestone, marl (a clayey soil that contains a lot of lime) and chalk. The grapes are picked and sorted by hand. After very careful selections in both the vineyards and the winery, the grapes are destemmed. Then the grapes are crushed and their grape mass, which consists of crushed grapes and grape juice, is macerated and fermented in stainless steel tanks at 26°C. After which the grape mass is gently pressed and the wine is transferred to 225 litres new American and French oak barrels (barriques) where it undergoes malolactic fermentation and it is aged for a period of 12 months. Finally, the wine is bottled, without filtration and without fining, and is aged for a few more months before being released on the market.

Tamaral-wines are imported to Sweden by The Wine and Spirits Collective Sweden.
