About NJ Wines

NJ Wines’s owner Nenad Jelisic (NJ) has always been interested in science. This made that he first educated himself as a Geologist Technician, then as a Master of Science in Engineering (specialization in Geotechnics), then as a Licentiate in Geotechnics and finally as a Doctor of Philosophy in Geotechnics. 42 years ago, NJ's deep interest in everything related to wine began. Since then, all of NJ's free time has been spent on wine tastings (wine tastings at various wineries, wine trade wine tastings and his own wine tastings; which makes that many wines are tasted every year), wine knowledge (a few appellations, vineyards and wineries are visited almost every year, and many wine magazines, digital wine magazines, digital wine pages, digital wine pages owned by various governmental wine organizations and a few wine books are read/are went through every year), and very extensive work with the NJ Wines Wine Facebook Page (which is currently the World's Second Biggest Wine Facebook Page after the Robert Parker Wine Advocate Wine Facebook Page) and the NJ Wines Website (which is currently the Scandinavia's Best Independent Wine Website). NJ Wines was started in 2004 as a wine and spirits import company (NJ consulting & import), but has since year 2012 changed its focus, name and ended up with to be a wine and spirits import company. Nowadays, NJ shares his extensive wine knowledge through the NJ Wines Wine Facebook Page and the NJ Wines Website.

Please note that the NJ Wines Wine Facebook Page is not some Facebook Group Page where all members, regardless of whether they have good or very poor wine knowledge, are free to write whatever they want.

The NJ Wines Website is a website about wine, wine appellations, wine districts, wine regions, wine countries, the best wines, the best wineries, the best vintages, grapes, winemaking, etc. Better to say the NJ Wines Website writes about everything that has to do with wine. The uniqueness of the NJ Wines webpages is that they are updated almost daily and that on all of them it is possible to see when some information was last updated. Furthermore, the uniqueness of the NJ Wines websites is that every information that is on them has been checked extremely carefully, from several different sources, that is, if you have read some information on the NJ Wines webpages, you do not need to waste your valuable time by checking whether the information is correct.

On the NJ Wine webpages under News and other things about wine you can find results from the latest wine tastings during which a large number of wines from one wine country or a few wine countries have been tasted and rated, as well as interesting wine facts. Under The wine of the month and Make sure to try these wines, the wines that have got at least 85 NJP of possible 100 NJP, you can find wines: 1. that are in Systembolaget's (Systembolaget = a government owned chain of all liquor stores in Sweden) assortment (fixed assortment, temporary assortment or order assortment), 2. that are not in Systembolaget's assortment and 3. that have received at least 85 NJP of 100 NJP. Furthermore, under The wine of the month and Make sure to try these wines, the wines that have got at least 85 NJP of possible 100 NJP, you get: 1. the aroma and taste of the wines, 2. advice on what temperature these wines should be served at, 3. advice on whether these wines need to be decanted or not, 4. advice on whether these wines can be aged or not, 5. which food is best suited for these wines and 6. all most important information about which grape(s) these wines consist of (in percentage), from which vineyard(s) these grapes come from, where vineyard(s) for these grapes are located (wine appellation or wine region or both), soils on which these grapes grow and production process of these wines. Under Wine glossary and wine facts you will find everything to do with wine and only wines that have received at least 95 NJP.

Regardless of whether NJ Wines has purchased a wine itself or tasted it at some wine tasting or tasted it at some winery or had it sent home by some winery or some wine importer, NJ Wines always assesses and rates the wine the same. When a wine is tasted and rated, no consideration is taken at all to the price of the wine, that is, only the wine’s quality, the wine's aging and development potential and the wine's current condition are taken into account, and nothing else.
