Jerez-Xérès-Sherry, Spanish wine region, which is DO-classed and belongs to the geographical area of Andalusia. Jerez-Xérès-Sherry's vineyards lie at an altitude of 20 to 100 meters above sea level. The summers are hot (max 40 degrees) and dry and the winters are mild (min 0°C). On average, it rains 500-600 mm per year (comparatively it rains 600 to 700 mm per year in Sweden) and the most rain during: October-May. The number of hours of sunshine is 3,000 per year (1,500 to 1,600 in Sweden). Those 9,600 ha planted with grapes produce 685,000 hectoliters per year (2009). The maximum yield is 10,500 kg of grapes per hectare, equivalent to 71,3 hl/ha, and that is a lot. The wines consist of a blend of Palomino Fino, which dominates in the blend, Moscatel and Pedro Ximénez. (2011-01)

Jerez-Xérès-Sherry soils, there are three types of soil: the first type, which is almost white and called albariza, consists of 50% of lime and the rest of clay, limestone and sand, the second type, which is dark brown and called barros, consists to 10% of lime and the rest is dominated by clay and the third type, which is yellowish and called arenas, consists to 10% of lime and the residue is dominated by sand. Albariza best suites for the cultivation of Palomino grapes and by law must 40% of the grapes, which are used for the production of sherry, come from it. Pedro Ximenez and Moscatel are mostly grown on barros and arenas. (2011-01)

The winery has 150 ha that are distributed over 7 vineyards: Backus (9 ha), Banca Dorada (14 ha), Barboza (7 ha), Las Rocas (16 ha), Spring Valley Ranch (48 ha), Suscol (37 ha) and Yountville (19 ha).
